Chichimeca / Aztec
Carlos Castañeda, leader of Denver based Grupo Tlaloc Danza Azteca and educator about the culture explains the significance of the symbols and types of instruments used in Aztec (Chichimeca) dances and daily life.. This is an unused but interesting segment from a longer interview for the upcoming Powwow Documentary.
Carlos told me they enjoy performing and educating the public but the weekly practice (open to the public) is the time they really learn the meanings and symbolism of what they are doing, from the footstep patterns to the making of their regalia.
Where are the Chichimecca
This is Just a rough idea. Tribes can be spread out over large areas sometimes as large as a state or states.
